The architects at Meraki wanted to create a space which extracts the best performance from those within it by consciously activating the senses to absorb and respond to everything around it, devoid of any hierarchy.
Instinctively drawn to the freshness of the trees outside the office, the divide between ‘room’ and ‘balcony’, ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ was torn down along with the wall that was creating it. This partition was transformed into a pivoted window which serves as a dynamic work station delivering the effect of working under the trees to those sitting on either side of it.
The entire space was divided into: an interactive group work area, model making space and storage unit.
Wanting to make the small 250 sq.ft. office deliver a unique experience, the primary choice of colour was charcoal grey, which created the effect of ‘infinity’ within the space. Recycled material, green practices, and focused task lights further allows for a unique experience at different times of the day.
